JUNE 21 | London, The Tower
We took a special tour to see the Tower of London. This was def the way to go because they take you before it opens to the public so you can avoid the lines. Since the Crown Jewels are held in the Tower it can get pretty crowded with tourists. We got to meet a Beefeater who told us all about the history and all the famous prisoners held here. One of the pictures is of the Traitors’ Gate (half underwater since the entrance is from the Thames) where Anne Boleyn, among others was brought into the Tower never to leave again. At the time this was built, nothing looked like remotely like it. I can see how it must have been very formidable. They don’t let you take pictures of the crown jewels, but needless to say they were magnificent.
